The New Photo Hub

Lesson Summary

Welcome! In this new course, you will be guided on how the iPhone and Apple photos work, and how iOS 18 has transformed the way clients manage and interact with their photos. As photo managers, it is essential to adapt our perspective and see the iPhone as the central point of photo activity. Here are key points highlighted in the course:

  • There are over a billion iPhones in use globally, ten times more than Macs.
  • The iPhone is more than just a camera - it is where people view, edit, share, and manage their entire photo library.
  • For most users, the iPhone has become the primary device for photo activities.
  • About a third of iPhone users own a Mac, with others using PCs, iCloud, or no additional device.
  • The course emphasizes understanding Apple Photos on iOS 18, focusing on the updated interface, tools, and workflow restructuring.
  • Participants will leave the course equipped with mobile-first strategies to serve clients effectively on iPhones.
  • The curriculum encourages embracing change and meeting clients where they are on their iPhone devices.

Update Notes

This course has been reviewed against iOS 26. Where Apple changed the interface enough to affect what you see on screen, we re-recorded the lesson. Where the underlying workflow still holds up, we kept the original recording rather than reshoot it over a moved menu item or a redrawn icon.

That means a few lessons will look one iOS generation behind what's currently on your phone. The instruction is still accurate — you may just need to tap a slightly different spot to get there. We'd rather put our time into the lessons that actually changed than re-shoot ones that didn't, so you're covered either way.

If you ever hit a spot where the screen genuinely doesn't match what's being described, let us know — that's exactly the kind of gap we want to close.
